althy Living Weight Loss Tips

With the ever growing issues with obesity in modern societies, people have come to recognize that something in modern life has changed from the past. While obesity existed in the past, it was a rarity among all but the wealthiest of people. Weight loss programs should always start with a consultation with your doctor. Here are some healthy living weight loss tips based on how our bodies are meant to be used and cared for:

1. Eat More!
Yes, you read it right. If you want to lose weight, you need to eat more often. Eat three small meals and two to three small snacks each day. Space them out about every two or three hours. This serves to keep your blood sugar stable which, in turn, boosts your metabolism. Make sure that you have a variety of foods each day and don’t skimp on your protein. You need that to lose weight.

2. Watch the Fat and Sugar
Fat and sugar can cause you to gain weight, but don’t cut them out completely. Your body needs a small amount of sugar to function properly, but you can usually get enough through eating fresh fruits. Fat is another aspect to your diet that is often misunderstood. You need a certain amount of fat to cushion your organs and keep your skin supple. However you should limit your fat intake to about 10 grams or so per meal.

3. Eat Fresh
No doubt about it, fresh is best. Stay away from processed foods, canned foods and pre prepared foods. Instead, opt for fresh fruits and vegetables. Shop the “horseshoe” of the grocery store. That means you should only venture down the aisles of the store for spices, whole wheat pasta and brown rice. Shop the dairy, meats and produce areas but put blinders on for the rest of the store.

4. Drink you Water
Unless you have lived under a rock your entire life, you know that you should drink at least 8 eight ounce glasses of water a day. Your body is made up mostly of water and your body needs water for various functions that sustain life and keep your body working at its most efficient. When you cut out the sodas and replace them with water you will also notice a decrease in your weight. Even diet soda can make you bloated and appear larger.

5. Get out and MOVE!
Exercise is important to losing weight. A combination of cardio and weight bearing exercises will work greatly to your advantage. However, just getting out and walking each day will help you lose the weight. It will also help you get healthier as well. You don’t need to go get a gym membership, walk your dog or take a brisk walk around your neighborhood. The important thing is to move!

6. Be patient with your weight loss program. It is actually unhealthy to lose more than two pounds of fat per weeks. And, you are more likely to keep the weight off if you lose the weight at a slower healthy living weight loss rate.
