Natural Diversity in the Patagonia
To travel to Argentina, Chile and throughout South America without experiencing the natural beauty of the Patagonia is a shame. Of course, since this part of the world has so much to offer the adventurous traveler, completing a checklist of ‘must-do’ items is nearly impossible. Un-decisive travelers should note that the fact that many local or at least familiar with the area would place the Patagonia on the top of the list of must-see places.
Comprised of the southern portion of South America, the Patagonia is a diverse geographic region. The geography Patagonia consists of steppe-like plains in some regions. Throughout other regions, the geography changes from plains to mountains. Then, from lakes to lakes to ice fields to glaciers and back to plains again. Somewhere in the middle evidence of volcanic activity can be seen. The geography, climate and fauna of this region is as diverse as the South American continent itself.
